Refresh, Don't Replace

Refurbishing & Re-Spraying Your Kitchen

Your kitchen is the heart of your home, often used to socialise with friends and catch up with the family. It also gets used, a lot. Meaning naturally over time your kitchen can start to look dated and tired.

Even though your kitchen may look tired there may be nothing wrong with the actual cabinets and doors. A fantastic way to refresh your kitchen and give it a modern look is to have a professional spray your kitchen cabinets.

Already Painted?

Kitchen Respraying in Leeds

Already have a painted or sprayed kitchen that's starting to show its age? Kitchen respraying in Leeds is the simple way to bring it back to life. Whether your units are chipped, faded or you've simply fallen out of love with the colour, a professional respray gives them a smooth, durable new finish without the cost and disruption of a full replacement.

Every kitchen respray starts with the same careful preparation as a first-time spray: a thorough clean, 99% dust-free sanding, filling of any chips or knocks and the right primer for the surface, before your new colour goes on.

My Process

Why Use A Professional To Spray Your Kitchen?

There is a lot that goes into making a sprayed kitchen look superb. The most important part of spraying your kitchen is the preparation. Here are a few things I do to ensure a superior finish.

  1. 01 Clean

First I remove your doors, drawer fronts and handles. I then clean them all twice using specialised cleaning products to ensure there is no dirt or grease.

  2. 02 Preparation

I sand down all cabinets and drawers using a 99% dust-free sander.

  3. 03 Primers

As a qualified and experienced kitchen sprayer, I know which primer is right for each type of cabinet and paint.

  4. 04 Paints

The quality of the paint used determines the durability and longevity of the final finish. I use the highest quality Benjamin Moore water-based paints.

  5. 05 Finishing Touches

Once the paint has dried I refit your doors, re-level or adjust any that need it, and clear away masking papers, coverings and films, including inside your cabinets, to reveal your beautiful, renewed kitchen.

Can you spray all types of kitchen units or cabinets?

In the main yes, but a site visit or inspection is really necessary to confirm this.

What choice of colours would I have for my kitchen units or cabinets?

The paint brand I use, Benjamin Moore, offers a range of over 3,500 different colours available in matt, eggshell, satin or gloss finishes.

How durable will a sprayed kitchen be?

That depends on many factors, including the primers and paints used as well as who has applied them. But the paints I use, like Benjamin Moore Scuff-X and Advance, have scrub ratings above and beyond much of the paint available today, allowing for everyday cleaning.

What finish is best for sprayed kitchen units or cabinets?

I would say there are 4 options, matt, eggshell, satin or gloss, and a lot of it is down to personal choice. In the main they are all as durable as each other, but eggshell or satin are by far the most popular, with eggshell being my favourite.

How much does kitchen spraying cost?

This is a very difficult question to answer. All kitchens are different and will have different requirements to get them to a finished standard, but an average cost per door may be around £100.

Should my kitchen be sprayed or hand painted?

Both can give a superb result, and some projects use a mixture of the two. On my initial visit I will look at your kitchen and recommend the best approach for you.

Will I see brush or roller marks on my units?

No, a good painter can provide a finish which will look flawless on completion.

How long does it take to spray a full kitchen?

This depends on how big your kitchen is and how many units there are, but most projects can be completed within 1 to 2 weeks.

Can I use my kitchen while work is going on?

Yes, you can, but that's not to say there won't be some disruption. On my initial visit I will fully explain the process and what is required for the job to go as smoothly as possible for you. Some of my previous customers have arranged the work around going away on holiday, which is great for both of us.
